[attr]action _ A.V.A.E.

.Linear development of the diagram.

Flowers, beauty, performance and attraction. The aim of attraction in flowers is reproduction. Flowers were also one of the first forms of reversible body decoration, like jewels. Flowers used like jewels and also jewels bio-miming flowers. Beauty is a necessary component in attraction: the anatomy and characters of flowers are made to attract insects and perform fecundation.

Attraction also implies a form of interaction with the subject (physical, sensorial or information-based). Flowers emit a lot of sensorial attractors for the insects and also colours and shapes (mimicry) are a form of communication. In human interactions flowers (and jewels) have assumed even the character of elements of a language. So, flowers also as a form of communication.

We choosed as a flower for our project the Cyclamen Graecum:

numbers of petals_ 5
bend angle of the petals_ 180°, spiraling upwards
septal calix_ 5 parts, five filaments
color_ deep red-purle in the base of the petals blending to light pink on the tip.
venation_ longitudinal along petal

The petal plication and the veining give the petals enough strength to stretch upwards, despite the bending of the stem and so open the calyx completely for a better fecundation. We can exploit this kind of plication and veining both as a strategy for structure and ornament (as a "surface modulation" - Sir J. Summerson). More to the structure, the border conditions will act as a "virus" to the structural system and cause a propagation that will affect the geometrical model.
